Smarter Living for me personally has meant making steps towards a more efficient and resourceful way of life. At times this has been to develop a healthier lifestyle whilst simply learning how to make ends meet.
To do this and gain life is liberating in so many ways.
Personally, Learning to live wisely financially has come through a variety of life changing moments where I had to do all that I could to use the very last bit of money we had in the best way possible. (Many times I used to wonder why there was so much month left after the money!)
Heartbreaking decisions like deciding if to use the last $10 for fuel in the car or for essential grocery needs.
These were difficult days for sure.
I am here to say that although such situations are very difficult, we come through each time, to the other side of those decisions, and although life continues to bring similar challenges our way, the strength gained from persevering through the tough times of the past, has provided the ability to face the challenges of today.
Learning to live smarter does not necessarily mean living a penny-pinching life, although for many this can be the reality, once the changes are made, there are life long lessons learnt and experiences had, that are for the better.
In my journey of what seems a long time of difficult decisions and juggling to make ends meet, I have achieved both enormously successful and disastrous outcomes. Each experience has taught me something, if only to laugh at myself and know what never to try again!
I will use this space to share some of these experiences, things that have worked (those enormously successful outcomes) and the ones that have not (yes those disastrous moments that you can laugh with me about).
Helpful tips such as; budgeting ideas; budgeting examples; household suggestions, providing for special occasions, recipes and home-made options.
I hope that in sharing these with you is that it is not only helpful and supportive in your very important journey, but that we may also learn from each other. I look forward to learning from your experiences as well.
Welcome to our journey of smarter living!
