Life is not fair! Oh, how we have all been able to say that, maybe you are saying it right now.
What I have gained most from reading this book is that, although the above statement is very true and the circumstances of life can come thick and fast, it is the anger developed because of these that will lead me to be unforgiving of others and of life.
There are so many truths from this book that have resonated with me. They have helped me to recognise more quickly, the power of forgiveness and when destructive feelings such as anger, hurt and offence toward others surface, as they do. Also, I am learning to see these as opportunities to forgive.
Forgiving allows me to be free from the pain that these hurts bring, and builds in me the ability to trust God to bring justice as He see fits.
I am reminded of what we are told in Matthew 6:15
“But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
And OH, how I need the forgiveness of God.
Joyce is an author that writes in a way that I find not only easy to read, but also to follow and relate to my everyday life. There are no doubts that the sharing of her personal journey of learning to forgive is very powerful and encouraging.
I recommend that you read this book and allow God to challenge you on the journey of learning to forgive.
