As a woman who is my perfect role model?
I am woman.
A Wife, A Mum, A Sister, An Aunty, A Grandma, A Friend and amongst that I am ME!
But at times I wonder what ME should look like.
I remind myself that I am an individual with a purpose and dreams. It is not about living for others, or my life through others but to be who I am designed to be. This in itself can be a huge challenge as I thoroughly enjoy my life in all the roles I have and can even feel lost without the busyness they bring.
In all that life requires of me it is clear that I need a role model. Someone who can inspire and encourage me in my journey, someone who has faced similar challenges and survived!
Who makes a good role model for women today?
I value deeply all the women in my life and the great riches I have gained from their support, love and encouragement. I am the woman I am today because of Godly women around me. But I also know that there is no ONE person who can provide all that I need to be successful in life, this can only be achieved through my daily walk with God.
This leads me to the well know passage of Proverbs 31.
Yes the woman described here seems more like a Super Woman, and I have at times wondered how I could ever come close to the woman she is and all that she achieves.
And then I wondered what this passage would sound like if I was writing it, so that is what I did. I re-wrote it in my words. I would love to hear what you think.

What Proverbs 31 says to me:
I endeavour to be a virtuous woman, showing excellence in all that I do. I know that such a woman is precious beyond measure, and is rare.
My partner trusts me totally, with our personal life, our children, and our home. He trusts me to make decisions that will support our family, prospering us spiritually, financially, physically, and emotionally. I respect and love my husband, and do him good at all times.
My family is well dressed, well fed and display good presentation at all times. I do my job with vigour and dedication, keeping the family home filled with love, grace and creation.
My journeys to the shops are blessed with bargains/great deals, as I secure only what my family require. I am productive day and night, keeping watch for any opportunity to earn extra income, solely to bless my family. Should relocation of the family home be required, I consider the location, price, family requirements in the area and the efficiency of the move. The profit from previous property/s is used to invest in the new family home, increasing equity, and family inheritance. It is important to me to keep healthy, maintaining my physical strength so that I can be one who is productive until all is complete.
My heart is full of grace toward others, helping in areas where I feel I am being led. I am generous, because my provider is generous.
Because I have prepared (am equipped) for what lies ahead, I am not apprehensive about what tomorrow holds. I plan ahead of time and trust concerning my provision. Appearance is important to me, so I dress with integrity and elegance, spending wisely at all times. My partner is respected in our family home and abroad. His inner strength is obvious. I take delight in finding and using my given talents and abilities to better myself and those around me.
Wisdom and gentleness are important to me, and are characteristics I teach my family. I ensure that others see my inner strength, my appearance confirming my inner beauty. I think before I speak, keeping my words kind. I face tomorrow with a smile, and enjoy a good laugh.
Respectful, loving and admired children are my legacy; I am honoured to be a good Wife and Mum. I endeavour to be approachable and open minded so that my family and others can come to me for advice, support and love.
Inner beauty is a high priority to me as I make every effort to be an honourable and respected woman. I want to be unique and important to those who are important to me.
