A Party Girl

Oh how I love TIGGER!!!! And of course a good party!

Tigger is most definitely my favourite cartoon characters.  I have learnt so much from watching the way Tigger goes about life, which is quite nicely summed up in his song:
Tigger

The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful things.
Their tops are made of rubbers
The bottoms are made of springs
They’re Bouncy, Flouncy, Trouncy, Pouncy,
Fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN!!!

The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I’m the only one
I’m the only one!

For me I see the way Tigger displays how one can always be in party mode. He is always out to have Tiggerific Fun no matter what the circumstances may be or may not be, or even what they may try to tell him.

Tigger bounces, Tigger sees the best, and Tigger encourages others. Tigger understands life is not a destination to arrive at, but a journey to enjoy while heading there.

Tigger reminds me to

1. BOUNCE BACK:

Although those around Tigger are constantly setting him up for failure, Tigger learnt that life is not measured by when he is on the ground………….but by the height of when he jumps.

Tigger is often heard saying “Bouncing Out of Here”, and he does this by being uncompromising about the fun that he intends to have along the way.

From this I learn: Be like Tigger and remember that your ‘fun’ moments are NON negotiable, and to take time to enjoy the moment regardless of the challenges that may face me.

2. BE READY:

Tigger is Always Ready……………..ready for anything!

Just the sight of Tigger bouncing around is enough to see he is able to express his zest for life. He does this as he knows it is a great way for him to share his eagerness and happiness to enjoy each day, and this puts him in the right frame of mind to be ready for any adventure that may be heading his way (or in the case of Tigger, ready when it finds him)

Regardless of the size of his challenges, Tigger is determined to have as much fun as possible along the way. For Tigger, it is not about the arrival at his destination, but knowing that it is the journey along the way.

From this I learn: Be like Tigger and allow others to see my zest for life and to be eager to bring all that I can to enjoy the journey, whilst learning along the way.

3. ALWAYS BE UNIQUE  -“The wonderful thing about Tiggers, Is Tiggers are wonderful things.”

Tigger knows he is ONE OF A KIND, and sings it for all to hear. Tigger has taken the effort to know who he is, and understands that no one can ever be HIM. He does all that he can to be all that he is, making sure He gets all out of the day that He can.

From this I learn: Be like Tigger and remember that there is only one me, and I can offer a uniqueness to this world, that I can only do! I am one of a kind.

So why not join me and be a Tigger in your world – Tiggers are wonderful, unique, one of a kind! My hope is that others will want to join our party.

"Undaunted" by Christine Caine

A book I will read again!

The story that Christine shares is personal and impacting, full of honesty and openness. I related to so much of what she had to share and was extremely encouraged.

Christine is with no doubt a woman of faith, but it is the way in which she openly shares the journey of faith, including the thoughts of doubt and question and the wonder of how it will all work out that for me was the greatest encouragement.

I often feel like a lesser woman of faith when I begin to doubt, yet what I learnt from this real life story is that is the action which we take that will bring us closer to the purpose we were designed for.

I was also reminded that, from my own dark and depressive experiences, I can be used to empower and equip others; but it takes the desire to not only want change but to hang on tight to it, grip it well and move forward with it every day.

This is my first Christine Caine book, one I picked up from a recommendation, and I am so glad that I did. Christine writes in an easy to read fashion, but I found it was her honesty and humbleness before God that captured me.

I do recommend this book as a great read, but be prepared to be challenged whilst also very encouraged to become someone who is UNDAUNTED!
